Lush Products You Need In Your Life Right Now

Over the years, I’ve used a lot of different Lush products. Some have been to try and combat any problems I’ve had with my skin. Some have been bought just for pure indulgence.

In this post, I thought I’d share some of my favourite products that I’m currently loving right now. This post isn’t going to include a lot of bath bombs as such, but hopefully, you’ll find something that will inspire you and that will give you an excuse to go on a massive Lush haul. Sorry bank accounts.

Cosmetic Lad

Product description: You don’t have to be a lad to use this, but it helps. Multi-purpose lavender, wheatgrass and marigold cream for shaving and moisturising.

As I suffer from the most awkward skin type possible, (think dry, flaky, sensitive and spot-prone. Oh yes, lucky me) I once went crawling to my local Lush store and practically begged the shop assistant working there to help me find some products that would cure my problematic face. No pressure.

One of her suggestions was Cosmetic Lad. This moisturiser is great for anyone with sensitive skin. It has ingredients, such aloe vera and chamomile, that naturally help to soothe irritated skin. It’s also really lightweight so it’s perfect for using just before you apply your make-up. For men, this moisturizer advertises itself as also being great to apply post-shave.

Imogen Rose

Product description: This one is a token of love from a new father to his daughter. Our perfumer Simon invented this scent for his then one-year-old daughter, Imogen Rose. When trying to capture the real beauty of the scent of roses, many try to use cheaper, synthetic versions, but there’s nothing like real rose oil and rose absolute. And with a hint of baby powder to soften it up, this one will smell fresh and sweet on the skin.

Over the years, Lush have built up quite an extension range of scents as part of their ‘Gorilla perfume’ line. If you haven’t smelt any of their fragrances before, then you might find some of the aromas quite strong. This is because Lush use natural ingredients in their products and the fragrances aren’t quite as ‘watered down’ as many other perfumes usually are. The benefit of this is that it produces a much purer perfume.

If you like the sound of switching over to the Gorilla Perfume range but are unsure about whether you’ll be able to get used to some of the stronger smelling scents, then I would highly recommend Imogen Rose.

The aroma of this perfume is very subtle but also packs a punch. I’ve had so many compliments from people as I whizz past them, telling me how nice I smell. If you’re after a perfume that smells very sweet and quite floral like other perfumes on the high street, then definitely give this one a go.

Cupcake Face Mask

Product description: Chocolate heaven for oily and teenage skin. Helps absorb excess oil and calm breakouts. Cocoa butter, linseed, and cocoa powder soften with balancing peppermint, spearmint and sandalwood oils.

This might just be one of the most well-known face masks that Lush sell. It’s intended to be used on skin that’s a bit oily and spotty, as it helps to combat breakouts by drying up those pesky rascals.

As the name suggests, the Cupcake fresh face mask honestly smells like a brownie cake mix. All you have to do is smother a generous layer over your face, wait 5-10 minutes, then wash it off. Once it has dried onto your face, it feels almost like a clay mask. After using this mask, my skin feels a whole lot smoother. I actually don’t have oily skin but rather dry skin, so I don’t use this on a regular basis. However, when Mother Nature decides my face needs a few extra pimples, then this mask is great for dealing with them.

So if you feel like your spot-prone skin could use a pick-me-up then be sure to try this one out. As this is a fresh face mask, remember to put this one in the fridge!

Snow Fairy

Product description: Add a little sparkle to your shower by cleaning with this candy-floss scented favourite.

Now this one is a little bit naughty. As some of you may know, Snow Fairy is a range of Lush products, including this shower gel that only comes out at Christmas. (sobs)

So if you’re reading this post and it isn’t currently the festive season then I wholeheartedly apologise, but it had to be included on this list. Snow Fairy is a firm favourite amongst Lush fans and it’s not hard to see why.

With its Barbie-pink colouring and generous lashings of glitter, this sweet candyfloss shower gel will definitely brighten up those mundane mornings in the shower.

The Comforter

Product description: Cassis absolute knits together with sweet vanilla, wrapping you in homely blackcurrant comfort.

I first spotted this shower cream when I went into my local Lush to buy Snow Fairy, blissfully unaware that it was the middle of Spring and it wasn’t out yet.

So if like me, you’re a fan of Snow Fairy but can’t wait until Christmas, then I recommend The Comforter. It looks deceivingly like Snow Fairy with its hot pink colouring and even has a little bit of sparkle in it too. The only real difference is the smell. Despite it still smelling as sweet as pie, The Comforter has more of a yummy, fruity scent rather than the candy-floss aroma that Snow Fairy possesses.

Catastrophe Cosmetic

Product description: When disaster looms, Catastrophe Cosmetic calms and cleanses the skin. Blueberries rich in beneficial anti-oxidants, soothing chamomile, Irish moss and the gentle cleansing action of calamine to save the day.

“ANOTHER FACE MASK?” I hear you cry. Yes, and for good reason. This is the newest addition to my little Lush family. Like the Cupcake face mask,

This is the newest addition to my little Lush family. Like the Cupcake face mask, Catastrophe Cosmetic also promises to help fix problematic skin. However, this face mask is more of a cleanser as it’s packed full of natural cleansing ingredients such as blueberries and chamomile.

By the way, this face mask smells like actual heaven. It smells like the creamiest blueberry yoghurt and is easy to apply to the skin. Trust me you won’t want to wash it off!

As this is a fresh face mask, remember to put this in the fridge!

Grease Lightning

Product description: Strikes the spot with lightning precision. Dab on this super effective tea tree and witch hazel gel to zap zits before they show themselves.

If you’re somebody that doesn’t like to use harsh chemicals on their face but wants a little something to help with spots, then this could be the product for you.

Containing natural acne-fighting ingredients such as witch hazel and tea tree, this gentle alternative to harsh spot treatments will help calm your spots down over time.

Now don’t get me wrong, this might not be as fast as some of the chemical-filled spot creams out there, but Grease Lightning is going to be nicer to your skin and help you in the long run.

Cup O’ Coffee

Product description: Let’s have another cup o’ coffee! Wake your skin up with this exfoliating mask, leaving it smooth and soft.

Ok, ok this is the last face mask I promise. I really wanted to include Cup O’ Coffee because I’ve had this one for a while now and it’s a lot different to the other face masks that Lush sell. Cup O’ Coffee is more of an exfoliator, instead of a cleanser or spot treatment.

Smooth a generous layer onto your face in the morning, leave it for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off. Your skin and face will feel awakened and so much softer. Unlike the other face masks I’ve listed in this post, you can use Cup O’ Coffee all over your body too, so if you have anywhere else that could use a pick-me-up, then this is a great product to have. An additional benefit of this face mask, is that you don’t need to keep it in the fridge! Win-win!

Tea Tree Water

Product description: Comes to the aid of skin that has emergencies. Tea tree is a wonder antibacterial, antiseptic and antimicrobial ingredient for anyone with oily or spot prone skin.

Tea Tree Water is a Lush product that I’ve been using as part of my routine for a long time now. What I love about it, is that it isn’t harsh on your skin. Tea tree is well known for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties, but for people with sensitive skin, it can be quite over-powering. Tea Tree Water is a great alternative, as you’re getting a light-weight toner that is gentle on your skin, but still has that magical ingredient in it that will help you with any skin woes. Another great benefit of this product is that if you buy the largest bottle, it will last you AGES.

So there we have it! Over the years I have used many, many other Lush goodies but haven’t included them on this list. • Sinéad

I’m trying to gradually make my beauty stash more cruelty-free so I’m so glad I discovered your blog! So far I’ve only really tried Eau De Roma (a spritz on toner) from Lush, which I LOVE but I want to try more. This was the perfect guide! I swear by face masks so those recommendations were particularly useful. Plus our skin type seems pretty similar so I’m gonna go buy all these asap haha.
